In 2019 there will be THREE NSW Juniors Representative teams selected. In the under 18 age group there will be a NSWJRU I & a NSWJRU II team selected plus an under 16 NSWJRU Presidents XV will also be selected.
We are very excited to be able to present the kit that they will be wearing in 2019. Many thanks to our friends at Sinalli Sportswear for their assistance in providing this kit.
The NSW Juniors Opens (Under 18) program starts with selection of the two teams from the Sydney vs NSW Country U18 game (Jun 15th at Chatswood Oval under lights) & the Sydney / NSW Country vs CHS I & II teams (Jun 16th at Narrabeen). From here the NSWJRU I & II teams are selected to play AAGPS (Thursday 27th Jun at Hunters Hill) and then a final NSWJRU I team is confirmed.
This final NSWJRU I team will become part of the GEN BLUE Academy and will attend the GEN BLUE camp at Waratahs HQ on 1st-3rd July... Following this camp the team will tour to Perth to play the Western Force Academy side. From here they are in the GEN BLUE Academy program which culminates in games vs QLD and ACT in September where the Australian Schools and U18s team will be selected from.
We are extremely grateful that thanks to our sponsors, affiliates and benefactors that have made it possible for NSW Juniors to be able to run this U18 Rep program without having to charge any player levies for the playing kit or the tour to Perth. A great reward for these players that make these teams.
The NSWJRU Presidents XV will compete at the NSW Positive Rugby Foundation Regionals at Hunters Hill on the 1st weekend in July. The team will be selected at the Positive Rugby Foundation NSWJRU state Championships alongside the SJRU Red & SJRU Blue teams. NSW Country will select their U16 team from their Country Champs. These four teams will play at the regionals where the final Sydney and NSW Country U16 teams will be chosen.
The Presidents XV will be made up of players from both SJRU and CJRU associations that missed selection in their other rep teams plus any players whom may have been identified but were injured at the time of State Champs or Country Champs. It will be a true barbarians style team and give these players another chance to showcase their skills in front of selectors.
