Nominations are now open for any players that wish to trial for the 2019 SYDNEY U18 Representative team.

Trial will be held on the 5th May at Tryon Oval, Lindfield (2.00pm start). Open to all U18 club players in SJRU Opens, SRU Premiership colts and Subbies colts.

Starting this year there is a fantastic opportunity for you to progress your rugby down the Representative pathway all the way to an Australian Schools & U18s team.

The first step is via the SYDNEY U18s team, then onto NSWJRU U18s thru to the NSW GEN BLUE Academy and then if selected onto the Australian Schools & U18s team. See the attached road map to show the club and schools pathway.

The key for any aspirational player should be to make the NSW GEN BLUE Academy – this will essentially comprise of the 2 x NSW Schools teams and the NSWJRU U18s (plus a few select others) – so thru the club pathway making the NSWJRU U18s team is your immediate goal. This team will also tour to Perth to play the Western Force Academy.

The key dates for the Sydney U18 Club Rugby Rep Program are

5th May – 1st Trial (Tryon Oval, Lindfield @ 2.00pm)
12th May – 2nd Trial (Tryon Oval, Lindfield @ 2.00pm)
19th May to 9th Jun – Sunday Trainings (TBC)
15th Jun – Game vs NSW Country U18 @ Chatswood Oval, 5pm (following 1st grade Shute Shield game)
16th Jun – Game vs Combined High Schools (CHS) @ Narrabeen (Time TBC)
From here 2 x NSWJRU U18 teams will be selected to play AAGPS
27th Jun – NSWJRU vs AAGPS, Boronia Park, Hunters Hill @ 5.00pm
28th Jun - the final NSWJRU I side will be selected
1st July – 3rd July - NSW GEN BLUE camp @ NSWRU HQ, Daceyville
4th July – rest day
5th July – Captains run and flights to Perth
6th July – Game vs Western Force Academy @ Perth + overnight flight home
7th July – arrive in Sydney

From here the final GEN BLUE Academy will be selected to play Qld and ACT – then Australian Schools & U18s are selected.

**Players please note that as many of you are eligible for both schools and the club pathway, we do require that players choose one of the other.. We encourage players to make their own decisions on which pathway they wish to pursue to gain their maximum chance of making the GEN BLUE Academy – but they must chose a single pathway.
